All you need to enter the MakeAStar.com contests is a computer and a webcam. From the home page, click the COMPETE button and your song will be online in minutes.

Select which contest you want to enter: Original Music, A Cappella Webcam etc.

You’ll be taken to that contest’s home page – the front door for entrance. The contest home page lists all requirements, dates and details about the contest.

There are three ways to enter your music video to the contest:
a. Record Now - live recording with your webcam (advance to step 5)
b. Upload File - uploading a pre-recorded video from your computer (advance to step 9)
c. My Files - attaching a previously uploaded video from your files. (advance to step 10)

To create a live recording, click RECORD NOW. The MakeAStar.com webcam recorder will appear, and you’ll see this pop-up asking to access to your webcam and microphone. Click ALLOW.

If your webcam is working properly, a live video feed will appear on-screen. When you’re ready to sing, click the RECORD button and your 60 second performance begins.

If you don't like your recording and want a do-over, click STOP at any time to activate the RE-RECORD button and sing again.

When your 60 seconds are complete, enter a short name (e.g. This is a Winner) in the DESCRIBE YOUR VIDEO box and click the SAVE VIDEO button. (advance to step 11)

To upload a pre-recorded video from your computer, click UPLOAD. Click BROWSE to search your hard drive for the .MPEG, .MPG, .AVI, .WMV, or .MOV file you need. Describe your file and click UPLOAD FILE and your data will transfer to MakeAStar.com (advance to step 11)

To attach a previously uploaded video from your files, click MY Files. Choose which file you want and click ENTER THIS FILE.

The screen will refresh with this message thanking you for uploading, so click the NEXT button on the right.

After the screen refreshes, click the CONFIRM button.

Give a name to your entry, describe your video, check the box to confirm that you’ve read the contest rules, then click the all-important MAKE ME A STAR button below.

Once your entry is complete, the screen refreshes and your official entry into the Make A Star contest is online and ready for the world to see! (after we do a quality check)
